Habitats: Wasteground, grassland, gardens, woodland, scrub and hedgerows.
Habits: The moth flies in the evening and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The young larva mines the leaves of Hogweed, Cow Parsley, Wild Parsnip, Wild Carrot and Wild Angelica. The later instar larva may feed gregariously from a sparse web under a leaf, leaving brown blotches visible from the leafs upperside. It pupates in a net like cocoon among the leaf litter.
