Habitats: Woodland rides and clearings, fens, marshes and downland.
Habits: The male flies in the afternoon, the female at dusk. The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in a downward-folded spun leaf of Lesser Celandine, Columbine, Dog's Mercury, Bilberry, Hedge Woundwort, Common Figwort and other herbaceous plants. The underside of the leaf is eaten without affecting the upperside. It pupates in a cocoon within the spinning or in the leaf litter.
