Habitats: Open woodland, hedgerows, scrub and gardens.
Habits: The moth flies from sunset and later comes to light.
Foodplant: Unknown in the wild. Hawthorn, oaks and maples have been suggested as possible foodplants. It has been reared from Cock's-foot in captivity. It fed from a silk tube on the underside of a leaf.
