Habits: The moth flies from just before dusk. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a folded-down spun leaf of Bog Asphodel, Common Sea-lavender, woundworts, plantains, strawberries, knapweeds and many other wetland or salt-marsh herbaceous species. It pupates in a spun or rolled leaf.
On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on grape, Hop, plum, Blackthorn, Hawthorn, apple, pear and other shrubs.
