Habitats: Herb rich grassland in Scotland. It was last recorded in England in Kent in 1949 on dry grassland, chalk downland and sea-cliffs.
Habits: Flies low across herb rich grassland in sunshine.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain.
On the European mainland it is recorded from Kidney Vetch, Bird's-foot Trefoil, Dyer's Greenweed, brooms and Field Wormwood. The larva feeds from a silk tube among the stems of its foodplant.
