Habitats: Limestone grassland, heathland, moorland and bogs.
Habits: The moth flies throughout the day and in the evening. It later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the spun leaves and flower-heads of cinquefoils, Hoary Rock-rose, Bilberry, Bog Myrtle and Thrift. In Scotland it has been recorded from Sitka Spruce. It pupates within the larval spinning.
