Habitats: Woodland, scrub, gardens, heathland and moorland.
Habits: The moth flies around trees and over Bilberry during the day. It also flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the leaves of Hornbeam, Alder, whitebeams, Bilberry, probably Hazel and other plants. Pupation can be before or after overwintering.
