Habits: The male flies throughout the daylight hours. The female sits on foliage.

Foodplant: The polyphagous larva feeds from the folded or spun leaves and flower-heads of cinquefoils, mints, Bog Myrtle, Bilberry, heaths, Heather, Alexanders, Sea Campion and many other broadleaved and coniferous trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. It pupates in a spun leaf or in the leaf litter.
