Habits: The moth flies from sunset and later comes to light.
Foodplant: After overwintering in a spun leaf-fold in an early instar, the polyphagous larva feeds from a rolled leaf or sometimes a flower-head of mainly herbaceous plants such as goosefoots, strawberries, mints, Marjoram, knapweeds, Salad Burnet, loosestrifes, Stinging Nettles, Meadow-rue, valerians, but also on some trees and shrubs including oaks, honeysuckles, Ivy and brambles. It pupates in the rolled leaf or spinning.
