Habitats: Open woodland and hedgerows.

Habits: The moth flies from dusk and later comes to light.

Foodplant: In April after overwintering the polyphagous larva feeds in the rolled leaves of roses, honeysuckles, maples, Beech, oaks, Hazel, Wood Sage and Bracken. It pupates in the larval habitation.
