Habitats: Hedgerows, scrub and gardens.
Habits: The male flies in sunshine and in the evening. Both sexes fly from dusk and later occasionally comes to light. The males have been recorded at the pheromone for Red-belted Clearwing.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in spun leaves or a spun shoot of Hawthorn, plums, Blackthorn and sometimes apple. It pupates in the larval spinning.
