Similar species:
Forewing: 5 to 6mm
Habitats: Calcareous woodland and walls.
Habits: It flies over the foodplant in the evening, about a metre and a half above the ground.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the seeds of Wall Lettuce and Nipplewort, usually hidden amongst the pappus (feathery seed attachments), but the larger larva may be found partly exposed. It pupates in a sparse cocoon in the soil or leaf litter.
