Tortricidae

49.104 Bartsia Straw Gynnidomorpha luridana (Gregson, 1870)

Notable A

Similar species:

Forewing: 5 to 6mm

Habitats: Dry ground on rough calcareous grassland.

Habits: The moth rest on flower-heads and adjacent foliage during the day. It flies at sunset and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on the ripening seeds of Red Bartsia and possibly Eye-brights. It has been reared from Scentless Mayweed and Burdock heads, but as it pupates in seed-heads, it is unknown whether these are foodplants or just pupation sites.
