Forewing: 5.5 to 7.5mm
Habitats: Coastal grassland, wasteground and on chalk downs and shingle beaches.
Habits: It is easily disturbed in the day and flies in the evening and at dusk.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the spun flowers and ripening seeds of Yarrow and sometimes Scented Mayweed and Ox-eye Daisy. It overwinters full-fed in the spinning and pupates in the spring in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
