Similar species:
Forewing: 5 to 7mm
Habitats: Open woodland.
Habits: It flies during the evening and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the flowers and developing seeds in the flower-heads of Goldenrod. This retards their growth. In late September the full-fed larva spins a cocoon in the leaf litter to overwinter, then pupates in late April.
