Similar species:

Forewing: 5 to 7mm

Habitats: Sea-cliffs, marshes, fens, river-banks and road verges.

Habits: It will fly on warm afternoons and at dusk. It comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on the flowers and seeds of Hemp Agrimony. From October the full-fed larva overwinters in a cocoon in the remains of a foodplant stump, or an adjacent fallen stem on the ground, pupating there in early May.

On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on Gypsywort.
