Forewing: 4 to 6mm
Habitats: Rough disturbed ground, coastal slopes and open woodland.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the late afternoon. It flies just before sunset and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the pith within a stem or shoot or in the flowers and seed-heads of Scented Mayweed, Scentless Mayweed, Stinking Chamomile, Sea Mayweed or Goldenrod. In October the full-fed larva overwinters in the larval habitation or spun amongst leaf litter. It pupates there in late April.
