Similar species:

Forewing: 8 to 10.5mm

Habitats: Open woodland, woodland rides and margins, scrub, birch stands on heathland and wasteground.

Habits: The moth can be disturbed in the day. It flies from dusk and later comes to light and sugar.

Foodplant: The larva feeds between spun leaves of birches, with two or three leaves being rolled and twisted together. Pupation takes place in the larval habitation, a spun leaf or amongst leaf litter.
