Habitats: Mountain moorland and glens, especially in open Scot's Pine woodland.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed from Bilberry in the day. It flies from late evening until dusk.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the flat spun leaves of Bilberry. Then on the green leaves, dead leaves and stems. It overwinters from August in a spun folded leaf. In the spring it recommences feeding and may also feed on Cowberry. It pupates in a spun folded leaf.
