Habitats: Woodland rides and margins, hedgerows and wasteground.
Habits: The moth occasionally flies in the afternoon. It rests on the foodplant just before sunset and flies at dusk. It later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva mines down the flower stalk into the main stem of Hedge Woundwort. In the autumn it eats into the root and overwinters. In the spring it crawls up through a dried flower stem and pupates just below a node.
