Habitats: Open deciduous woodland, woodland rides and clearings.

Habits: The moth flies in afternoon sunshine, often resting on the foodplant. It occasionally comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives in a 'pod', formed by spinning a folded leaf edge or spinning together two leaves of Common Honeysuckle, Perfoliate Honeysuckle or Fly Honeysuckle. The full-fed larva overwinters from September in the spinning or amongst the leaf litter. It pupates where it overwintered.
