Habitats: Conifer plantation, wet heathland and moorland pines.
Habits: On sunny days the moth flies around the tree tops from afternoon until sunset. It later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva at first lives between two spun leaves of Scots Pine or Stone Pine. It later makes a tubular spinning formed from several needles, where it feeds on the adjacent leaves. It pupates in a spinning amongst fallen needles or in the soil.
