Forewing: 5.5 to 8mm
Habitats: Wet heathland, marshland and river-banks.
Habits: The moth rests on trunks and foliage during the day. It flies at dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the catkins or within two flat spun leaves of Aspen and possibly poplars. It either pupates in the larval habitation or in a brown silk cocoon in the leaf litter.
