Similar species:
Forewing: 6 to 8mm
Habitats: Sea-cliffs, chalk grassland, gravel pits and gardens.
Habits: The moth flies in the late afternoon and early evening on warm days and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in the spun flowers and hips of Dog Rose. It pupates in a folded leaf which later falls to the ground.
On the European mainland it is recorded as also feeding on Burnet Rose.
