Similar species:
Forewing: 5.5 to 7.5mm
Habitats: Cliffs, rocky slopes, vegetated shingle and gardens.
Habits: The moth flies during the late afternoon and evening and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in a seed-capsule on the seeds or occasionally in the shoots of Tree Mallow or Hollyhock. The larva moves from capsule to capsule, eating a hole through the side to enter (two holes means the larva has gone). It pupates in a flimsy cocoon in the leaf litter.
