Similar species:

Forewing: 5.5 to 8.5mm

Habitats: Damp meadows, coastal landslips, ditches and road verges.

Habits: The moth occasionally flies in afternoon sunshine, but more usually flies in the early evening. It occasionally comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in the lower stem of Common Fleabane, showing no outward sign of its presence. In September the full-fed larva overwinters and pupates between the roots of its foodplant in April.
