Forewing: 6.5 to 8.5mm

Habitats: Coniferous woodland and plantations.

Habits: The moth flies in afternoon sunshine. The first record for Britain was of a moth netted in the afternoon in Kent in 2011.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in the twigs and cones of pines, firs and possibly spruce, overwintering in the feeding place.
