Habitats: Grasslands; calcareous, neutral or sandy. Rough ground.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed from its foodplant during the day and flies during the evening. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in the rootstock of Yarrow, Tansy and perhaps Sneezewort in Scotland. It pupates in the soil in a cocoon attached to the roots.
