Habitats: Coastal chalk and limestone grassland, sea-cliffs, coastal slopes and wasteground.

Habits: The moth flies on sunny afternoons and at dusk and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in an unripe seed-pod of Common Restharrow. It pupates under the plant in a cocoon in the leaf litter which is often attached to a trailing stem.
