Similar species:

Forewing: 4.5 to 6mm

Habitats: Wasteground in the south-east.

Habits: The moth can be swept from the foodplant. It comes to light.

Foodplant: The early stages appear to have not been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland the larva feeds on the flowers and seeds of Lucerne, Black Medick, brooms, gorse and trefoils. In October the full-fed larva overwinters in a cocoon amongst the roots, about six centimetres down. It pupates in May at the soil surface.
