Habitats: Coastal cliffs and slopes.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed from Wild Cabbage in the day and flies around the foodplant in afternoon sunshine. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva burrows into the stem and side shoots of Wild Cabbage, ejecting frass through a hole in the stem. It has also been recorded from the stems of Brussel Sprouts.
On the European mainland it has been recorded in pest proportions on cultivated cabbages and stocks Matthiola sp.
