Similar species:

Forewing: 5 to 7mm

Habitats: Woodland, sea-cliffs and marshland.

Habits: The moth flies from late afternoon until dusk in sunny weather. It later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on seeds within a succession of pods of Wood Vetch, Tufted Vetch, Meadow Vetchling, Marsh Pea and probably other vetches. In September when full-fed the larva leaves the pod and spins a cocoon in the leaf litter or the soil where it overwinters until it pupates in April.
