Similar species:
Forewing: 4 to 4.5mm
Habitats: Oak woodland.
Habits: The moth flies on sunny afternoons and early evenings. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva tightly spins two leaves of oak, one above the other with a slight pucker in them. It lives within a sparse silk tube, where it eats the leaf surfaces, which causes blotching. The larva pupates in a strong frass-covered silk cocoon in the spun leaves. The leaves eventually fall amongst the leaf litter.
