Habitats: The species is synanthropic. Food storage warehouses.
Habits: The moth is nocturnal. It can be found resting on the walls inside warehouses containing dried fruit and nuts. It is occasionally found outside and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a silk tube on stored almonds, walnuts, dried fruit, soya and flax seed. It overwinters usually gregariously in silk spun cocoons in crannies separate from the food source, where it also pupates from March onwards.
