Habits: The moth is nocturnal. It can be found resting on the walls inside warehouses containing stored dry foods. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a silk tube on dried fruits, nuts, maize, nutmeg, rice, cereal, cacao and chocolate. It pupates often gregariously, in a thick white cocoon near the foodstuff.
