Habitats: Wherever beehives, bees or wasp nests are located and in gardens.

Habits: The nocturnal moth flies around bee hives at night and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives within silk galleries in bee hives and wasp nests feeding on the honeycomb.It has a preference for old combs. It spins a white cocoon (sometimes gregariously) when full-fed, where it overwinters before pupating in late May.
