Habitats: Chalk downland and coastal chalk slopes.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day. It flies from just before dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva overwinters while small. In the spring it feeds in the rolled, lower leaves of Marjoram. It later spins a terminal shoot, which is killed and soon overtopped by the lateral shoots. It pupates in a papery cocoon in the leaf litter
