Habitats: Woodland margins, scrub, hedgerows and gardens.
Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds within a succession of berries of Spindle, lightly spinning two or three together. A small amount of frass may be seen at the entrance hole in the berry. The larva usually pupates at once in a papery cocoon in rotten wood, although a few overwinter and pupate in the spring.
