Similar species:

Forewing: 9 to 11mm

Habitats: Hawthorn hedges, scrub, woodland and gardens.

Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light and sugar.

Foodplant: The larva overwinters while small. In the spring it spins a bunch of young leaves or flowers and buds of Hawthorn or sometimes Rowan. It pupates in a dense cocoon attached to a dead leaf in the leaf litter or under the earth.
