Similar species: Acrobasis suavella has a black bar across the dorsal at a third from the base of the forewing and the white scales stretch from the leading edge to the inside of this bar.
Forewing: 8 to 10mm
Habitats: Hedgerows, scrub and woodland, especially if they are coastal. It prefers stunted bushes.
Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva makes a wool-like web on the twigs and leaves of Blackthorn. It has also been recorded from Hawthorn and whitebeams. It pupates in the web in a brown-grey cocoon.
