Habitats: Coastal habitats, road verges and wasteground.

Habits: The moth flies from dusk and later comes to light. It rests on the lower stems of the foodplant in the day.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in a rootstock of Wormwood. It forms galleries and chambers in the root crown then moves up into the lower stem where it pupates.
