Similar species:

Forewing: 8 to 9mm

Habitats: Flat sandy areas behind sand-dunes.

Habits: The moth flies from dusk when it can be found on flowers of Viper's Bugloss. It later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds from a silk tube under Common Restharrow and sometimes clovers. It pupates in a silk cocoon attached to a stem at the base of the foodplant.

On the European mainland it also feeds on Spiny Restharrow.
