Forewing: 10 to 12mm

Habitats: Synanthropic. Stables, animal shelters, houses and farm buildings.

Habits: The moth is nocturnal. It rests by day on indoor walls. It is occasionally recorded out of doors and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on cereal refuse and stored cereals such as barley. It also feeds on hay.
