Habitats: Limestone grassland, coastal grasslands and sand dunes.
Habits: The moth flies in the sunshine and at night. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a web under the basal leaves of Wild Thyme or possibly Meadow Clary. The full-fed autumn larva overwinters in a large grey-brown papery cocoon in the leaf litter and pupates there in April.
