Immigrant
Similar species: Both this species and Uresiphita reversalis have a yellow hindwing. The latter is on average a smaller (13 to 16mm) american species that lacks a dark bar near the outer edge of that wing. There has only been one record of Uresiphita reversalis in Britain.
Forewing: 14 to 17mm
Habitats: On mainland Europe it is found on sunny, dry rocky slopes.
Habits: The moth flies at night and comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain and Ireland. On the European mainland the larva feeds on Broom, Gorse, Petty Whin and Runner Beans.
