Habits: The moth can be disturbed from under the leaves of Elder during the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in a web on the underside of a leaf of Elder, Lilac, privets or Viburnum spp. It appears to prefer the younger shrubs. The full-fed larva overwinters in a cocoon under bark or in the leaf litter. It pupates in the cocoon in May.
