Forewing: 10.5 to 12mm

Habitats: Damp woodland, woodland margins, hedgerows, shady green lanes and ditches.

Habits: With some effort the moth can be disturb from dense vegetation during the day. It is reputed to not travel far from its foodplant. It comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva rolls down the edge of a leaf of Hedge Woundwort and occasionally other woundworts. The full-fed larva overwinters in a cocoon within a hollow dry stem. It pupates there in late April.
