Habitats: Limestone crags, heathland and mountain moorland.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed during the day. It flies in the late afternoon and from dusk. It later comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain and Ireland. On the European mainland the larva is recorded as feeding on Sheep's-fescue, Tufted Hair-grass and other hairgrasses including Corynephorus spp. and Aira spp.
