Forewing: 11 to 14mm
Habitats: Mountain valleys and glens. Occasionally occurs as a migrant, as did a female at Holy Cross, Norfolk on 21st June 2017.
Habits: The moth rests amongst the foliage of isolated pines and sometimes birch during the day. It is not easily disturbed unless the foliage is beaten. It flies from dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. It is thought to feed on mosses.
