Habitats: Calcareous grassland, sea-cliffs, sand-dunes and short-turfed grassland slopes.

Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day. It flies from dusk and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives in a silk tube on the stem bases of Sheep's-fescue and other grasses. It pupates in a cocoon in the larval gallery.
